What is Secret RF microneedling?
Secret RF by Cutera is an advanced radiofrequency microneedling treatment. Ultra-fine needles create tiny channels in the skin and deliver controlled radiofrequency energy into the deeper layers, where it is designed to prompt your skin to produce fresh collagen and elastin. Most of the skin’s surface is left intact, so recovery is quick.
We offer Secret RF microneedling in Coleraine and Derry/Londonderry to help improve the appearance of acne scarring, enlarged pores, fine lines and mild laxity on the face, neck and body. If your skin needs deeper resurfacing, we may recommend Secret PRO, our fractional CO2 laser, on its own or combined with Secret RF.

Secret RF combines two established approaches in one treatment, with depth and energy tailored to your skin and the area being treated.
Fine needles
Ultra-fine needles create controlled micro-channels in the skin, prompting its natural healing response while leaving most of the surface intact.
Radiofrequency energy
Energy is delivered through the needle tips into the deeper layers, gently heating the tissue where collagen and elastin are made.

Secret RF microneedling FAQs
What is the difference between Secret RF and Secret PRO?
They are two different treatments. Secret RF is radiofrequency microneedling. Secret PRO is a fractional CO2 laser for resurfacing. They can be booked separately or combined. We will recommend the right option for your skin at your consultation.
Does Secret RF hurt?
Most patients find it comfortable once the numbing cream has taken effect. You will usually feel warmth and light pressure as the handpiece moves over the skin.
Is there any downtime?
Usually a day or two of redness and mild swelling. This is typically less than with fully ablative laser resurfacing, and most people return to their normal routine quickly.
How many sessions will I need?
Most people benefit from a short course of treatments spaced several weeks apart. The number depends on your skin and your goals, and we will agree a plan with you at your consultation.
When will I see results?
Your skin remodels gradually, so improvement builds over the weeks and months after each session as new collagen forms. We will advise on maintenance to help you keep your results.
Is Secret RF suitable for all skin types?
Radiofrequency microneedling can suit a wide range of skin types and tones. It may not be suitable if you are pregnant, have an active skin infection or have certain medical conditions, so we check this carefully at your consultation.
Can I combine Secret RF with other treatments?
Yes. Many patients pair it with MediLux LED therapy to support healing, or with skin boosters and polynucleotides for extra hydration and skin quality. We will plan the timing with you.
