What are skin boosters?
Skin boosters are injectable treatments designed to improve the quality of your skin rather than change its shape. Unlike dermal filler, they do not add volume. Instead, they deliver hydrating and regenerative ingredients just beneath the surface to help improve hydration, texture, firmness and tone.
At A Aesthetics we offer a range of skin boosters in Coleraine and Derry/Londonderry, including NCTF, Celora Vita, polynucleotides, exosomes, Cellular Matrix and PRP. Each works in a slightly different way, so our doctor or nurse will recommend the right option, or combination, for your skin after a face-to-face consultation.
What skin boosters can help with
Skin boosters suit most skin types, which we confirm at your consultation, and are a popular choice when your skin looks dull, dry or tired. Your practitioner will match the product to your main concern.
How skin boosters work
Every skin booster is designed to work beneath the surface to improve how your skin behaves, not just how it looks. They fall into three broad groups.
Deep hydration
Hyaluronic acid skin boosters such as NCTF draw moisture into the skin for a smoother, more radiant finish.
Repair and regeneration
Polynucleotides and exosomes are designed to support the skin’s own repair processes, which may help strengthen thin or tired skin and refine texture over a course of treatments. Celora Vita adds amino acids, the building blocks the skin uses to make collagen and elastin.
Your own growth factors
PRP uses growth factors taken from a small sample of your own blood, and Cellular Matrix combines PRP with hyaluronic acid for added hydration.
Your skin booster treatment, step by step
Consultation
We assess your skin, talk through your goals and medical history, and recommend the skin booster that suits you best. Your consultation is complimentary.
Preparation
Your skin is cleansed and, where needed, a numbing cream is applied so your treatment is as comfortable as possible.
Your treatment
Your practitioner places small amounts of product at precise points in the skin using a very fine needle. Most appointments take 30 to 45 minutes.
Aftercare and results
Mild redness or small bumps usually settle within a day. Results build over a course of 2 to 3 sessions, with maintenance to keep your skin at its best.

Skin booster FAQs
Do skin boosters hurt?
Most people feel only mild discomfort. We use very fine needles and can apply numbing cream beforehand, so treatment is usually well tolerated.
Is there any downtime?
Downtime is minimal. You may see small raised bumps, redness or light bruising at the injection points, which usually settle within about 24 hours. We advise avoiding make-up, strenuous exercise and alcohol for the rest of the day.
How many sessions will I need?
Most skin boosters work best as a course of 2 to 3 sessions, spaced a few weeks apart. The exact plan depends on the product and your skin, and we confirm it at your consultation.
When will I see results, and how long do they last?
Many people notice fresher, more hydrated skin within a few weeks, and improvements in firmness and texture build gradually with each session. Results typically last several months, and most patients book maintenance treatments to keep their skin in good condition.
Which skin booster is right for me?
It depends on your skin and your goals. NCTF focuses on hydration, Celora Vita on the skin’s building blocks, and polynucleotides and exosomes on repair, while PRP and Cellular Matrix use your own growth factors. We recommend the best option after assessing your skin.
Who should not have skin boosters?
Skin boosters are not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or if you have an active skin infection in the treatment area. Some medical conditions and medications also need to be discussed first, which we check at your consultation.
Can I combine skin boosters with other treatments?
Yes. Skin boosters pair well with MediLux LED therapy and Secret PRO. We plan the timing so each treatment supports the next.
